BALL PRESS

WHILE I COACHED AT S.I.U. EDWARDSVILLE AND HE AT COLLINSVILLE,
I SPENT HOURS AND HOURS PICKING HIS BRAIN ON THE BALL PRESS. HIS TEAMS RAN IT SO SMOOTHLY; THEY MADE IT SO EASY TO WATCH BECAUSE THEY EXECUTED IT SO WELL. I STILL DON'T KNOW HOW HE DID IT, BUT IT WAS FUN TO WATCH AS LONG AS YOU WEREN'T PLAYING AGAINST HIM.

HE WAS ONE OF THE GOOD GUYS AND A GREAT COACH.

Coach Fletcher

I met Coach Fletcher several times during the past 40 years.  Originally I met him through one of my college teammates who had played for him at Collinsville.  In the early days of the IBCA, he was one of those guys that we all dreamed of being.  I remember many nights during the All Star games and state tournaments of the 70’s and 80’s going deep into the night talking basketball.  He always had time for the young coaches, not pushy but would answer our questions no matter how much time it took or how dumb the questions probably were.  He helped me (and many others) to become a successful coach and I will always be grateful for that.
