On Friday, January 26, prededing a key Western Illinois Valley Conference match-up with rival Winchester West Central Cougars, and before a packed house, the IBCA recognized one of just a few Illinois High School Boys consolidated basketball programs that have surpassed the 1000 victory plateau. During the 2021-22 basketball season, Triopia High School reached that milestone and currently stands at 1060 wins. Since the 1959-60 season, when Chapin and Arenzville High Schools combined to form the Triopia school district, the Trojans have won numerous conference and tournament championships, captured 10 regional titles, and placed 4th in the 2019 Class A state tournament - coached by Mike Lewis. Without any doubt, Triopia High School can be included as one of the premier small school boys’ basketball programs in West Central Illinois.
Two former Trojan coaches who have been inducted into the IBCA Hall of Fame include: Don Kemp – Class of 1979 and Joe Parmentier – Class of 2021.
