The Illinois Basketball Coaches Association will host our annual State-Wide Clinic on September 21st and 22nd, 2024, in Bloomington, IL.
2024 IBCA Clinic will offer more options with format changes, including interactive breakout sessions.
Some of the speakers at our 2024 State-Wide Clinic include: Mark Cascio (SAVI Coaching), Mike Neighbors (Arkansas), Chris Holtmann (DePaul) and the DePaul University men's basketball staff, Bosko Djurickovic (Carthage College), Ron Winemiller (Benton), Dennis Bridges (Illinois Wesleyan), Brandon Bailey (DePaul), Jason Welch (Bloomington Central Catholic), Alyssa Riley (Chatham-Glenwood), Growing the Women's Game (Karrie Redeker, Debbie Coffman, Kim Wensits) and Kate Schneider (Pure Sports Mindset).

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES:
Brandon Bailey | As a Chicago native, Coach Bailey returns to his alma mater DePaul as an assistant coach. He was in the Boston Celtics organization for 10 years, including 2 years as the head coach of the Maine Red Claws in the G League. He then stayed within the organization to serve as an assistant for the Celtics under Brad Stevens for two year.. He was also an assistant for Team USA, and his most recent position was as an assistant at Ohio State. | |||||||
Jason Welch | Coach Welch has 29 years of coaching experience. After a 7 year stint as the JV coach at St. Joseph-Ogden, he went to Villa Grove HS as head coach for 4 years. Now in his 19th season at Bloomington Central Catholic, the Saints have won 7 Regionals, 5 Sectionals, and 3 State Appearances. They won the 2A State Championship in 2014, finished 3rd in 2018, and were runners-up in 2023. Welch has accumulated a career record of 383-233. | |||||||
Ron Winemiller | Coach Winemiller has a coaching career spanning over 25 years. He has had head coaching stops at Ziegler-Royalton, Forreston and Benton, where he has been the head coach for the last 15 years. During his time at Benton, the Rangers have won 295 games including 5 Regional titles, 1 Sectional and Runner-up in the 2A State Tournament last spring. They have also won 4 Southern Illinois River to River Conference Championships and 14 Invitational and Holiday tournament titles. Winemiller's overall record is 352-207. | |||||||
Layne Langhoff | Coach Langhoff played at Winnebago High School for IBCA Hall of Fame Coach Joe Murphy. He coached the boys JV teams at Byron and Rockford Lutheran before relocating to Canton. While at Canton, he was the fresh-soph girls coach for five years. Coach Langhoff spent 13 seasons as the varisty girls coach at Canton (2004-2017), where his teams compiled a record of 204-160. He is starting his eighth year at Peoria Notre Dame, where they have gone 136-66 in seven seasons. Peoria ND won the 2024 Class 2A State Championship with a record of 34-4. | |||||||
Alyssa Riley | Coach Riley started her coaching career at Rushville-Industry (Rushville, IL) coaching the 8th grade girls' team for 1 year. She then became the girls' varsity coach at Warrensburg-Latham (Warrensburg, IL), going 73-88 over 6 years, and also coaching the 8th grade girls for 2 seasons. Last year was her first year as the head coach at Glenwood (Chatham, IL), going 28-8. The team set several school records last season, such as most wins in a single season, first sectional title since 2003, the school's first ever state tournament appearance for basketball (boys or girls), and finished as the 3A state runner-up. Their super-sectional win at Highland taking us to the final four also marked her 100th career win as a head coach. | |||||||
Erik Kudronowicz | Coach Kudronowicz has been coaching at Scales Mound High School for 18 seasons. During that time, he has compiled a career record of 266-248 including a record of 128-30 over the last 5 seasons to become the all-time winningest coach at Scales Mound.. The Hornets have had 5 consecutive winning seasons and 9 in Coach K’s tenure. Coach Kudronowicz has guided the Hornets to 2 NUIC West Conference Championships, 5 Regionals, 2 Sectionals, and 2 Super-Sectionals. In 2022, the Scales Mound Hornets broke through for their first trip to the State Finals finishing 3rd with a 36-3 record. In 2023, the Hornets made consecutive appearances in the State Finals finishing runner-up with a 33-6 record. | |||||||
Dennie Bridges | As an Illinois Wesleyan alum, Coach Bridges became the Head Men's Basketball Coach at his alma mater starting with the 1965-66 season. In 36 seasons as the head coach, IWU posted a 667-319 record. When he retired in 2001, he was the winningest active NCAA D3 coach, while racking up a record 17 CCIW titles and the most CCIW wins in conference history. The Titans made the NAIA quarterfinals twice, and made five trips to the NCAA D3 Elite 8, finishing third in 1996 & 2001. In 1997 IWU won the Division 3 National Championship with a final record of 29-2, earning Coach Bridges National Coach of the Year honors. | |||||||
Bosko Djurickovic | Coach Djurickovic had a distinguished career at two CCIW schools - 10 years at North Park and 24 years at Carthage. He finished with a career record of 567-326. Coach Djurickovic finished his career as the all-time winningest coach in Carthage history (371), and is also second all-time in CCIW wins. Carthage won 5 CCIW titles, finished 3rd in the nation in 2002, and also made a trip to the Elite 8 and two runs to the Sweet 16. While coaching at North Park, he coached the Vikings to NCAA D3 National Championships in 1985 & 1987 while earning National Coach of the Year honors both years. He also served as the assistant coach at North Park when they won National Titles in 1978, 1979, & 1980. | |||||||
Kevin Devitt | Coach Devitt began his coaching career working three years at the high school level in Illinois. He has been in the college ranks as an assistant coach at Roosevelt University, UAB, and Wright State. He was also the Associate Head Coach at Niagra University. He was named to the 2022 Silver Waves Media Most Impactful Mid-Major Assistant Coaches list. He is in his first year at UIC. | |||||||
Ryan Davis | Coach Davis starts his first season as an assistant coach at UIC. He has been at Lake Forest College for nine years, the past three seasons as the head coach. During his 9 years at Lake Forest, they registered 104 wins and made the NCAA D3 tournament for the first time in program history in 2019. That season saw the Foresters set school records for scoring average and 3 pointers made. | |||||||
Mike Neighbors | After starting out as a high school coach and spending 12 years as an assistant coach at five division one schools, Coach Neighbors became head coach at Washington in 2014. While at Washington, the Huskies went 98-41. Neighbors then moved to Arkansas in 2017, and is currently still there. The Razorbacks have gone 120-77 in his 6 seasons as head coach. Arkansas has been built into a nationally recognized progam, putting together five straight winning seasons and four consecutive post season berths. Coach Neighbors has built a repuation of being one of the better clinic speakers in the country in recent years. | |||||||
Brad Underwood | After successful stints at Stephen F. Austin and Oklahoma State - leading both schools to NCAA Tournament berths, Coach Underwood is starting his 8th season as the head coach at Illinois. In his seven years at Illinois, the Illini have had four straight NCAA Tournament berths, reaching the Elite 8 in 2024 for the first time since 2005. They have won 3 Big 10 championships in the last 4 years while becoming the winningest team in Big 10 play over the last five years. The Illini were also Big 10 Tournament Champions in 2021 and 2024. | |||||||
Mark Cascio | Mark Cascio has 19 years of coaching experience at the high school and college levels, achieving a 249-97 record in his last decade as a head coach, along with 8 district titles and 5 final four appearances. In 2012, he became the youngest coach to win a state title in Louisiana. In recent years, Coach Cascio has shifted his focus to consulting and clinician work where he shares his expertise through hundreds of webinars and by traveling the country to lead clinics for coaching staffs at every level - from youth to professional. His commitment to innovative coaching methods and players development continues to influence how basketball is taught and played. | |||||||
Kate Schneider | As a coach’s daughter, psychotherapist, and lifelong athlete, Kate is dedicated to enhancing mental toughness for coaches and their teams through mindset techniques. Her expertise in sports consulting and mental health counseling led her to create Pure Sports Mindset. In addition to one-on-one work with athletes, Kate consults with parents, coaches, and entire athletic departments using the principles outlined in her book, Pure Sports Mindset. | |||||||

Head Coach Chris Holtmann has 13 years of head coaching experience at Gardner-Webb, Butler, and Ohio State. His team amassed 9 straight 20 win seasons and 8 straight NCAA tournament appearances. He has been awarded 3 conference Coach of the Year awards. The DePaul staff features assistants with head coaching experience: Brandon Bailey (Maine Red Claws), Bryan Mullins (SIU), Jack Owens (Miami, OH), and Lavall Jordan (Milwaukee & Butler) Other members of the staff that may help present bring a wealth of experience as assistant coaches: Paris Parham, , John McCausland Tyler Hickks, Drew Bryson, and Corey Felder. |
