Preceding the city rivalry game between Quincy Notre Dame and Quincy High Schools, the IBCA honored just the 6th girls Illinois High School basketball program to win 1000 school games. On December 1, 2023, QND reached that milestone. The first Lady Raider Coach Jim Citro (1975-1977) and current Coach Eric Orne accepted the plaque on behalf of a great contingent of former players and fans.

Since the 1975-76 season, the Lady Raiders have captured an unmatched 30 regional titles, 17 sectional crowns, and have made 13 trips to the IHSA state tournament earning a 4th place finish, three 3rd place trophies, two 2nd places, and Six State Championships, including four coached by Eric Orne. Without question, Quincy Notre Dame High School can be included as not only one of the premier girls basketball programs in Illinois but in the nation.

Those representing Quincy Notre Dame Basketball in the IBCA Hall of Fame include:Current Coach Eric Orne – Class of 2017. Hall of Fame Players Jessica Stuckman and Susan Wellman Wideman – both inducted in 2019. In 2005, the 1983 and the 1984 QND State Championship teams were inducted into the IBCA Hall of Fame. The 2011 & 2012 Class 2A State Champions, and the 2013 3A State Champs will be inducted into the IBCA Hall of Fame – Class of 2024, on Saturday May 4, at Redbird Arena on the campus of Illinois State University.

Congrats to Coach Eric Orne and all Lady Raiders players, coaches and fans – past and present – on this great achievement!
