On Thursday, January 11, before a Southwestern Conference tilt with the Alton Redbirds, the IBCA recognized one of only nine Illinois High School Girls basketball programs to have surpassed the 1000 victory plateau. On December 27, 2023, Edwardsville High School became the 8th Illinois school to reach that milestone. Since the 1972-73 season, the Tigers have captured an unmatched 27 regional titles, 14 sectional crowns, and have made 6 trips to the IHSA state tournament earning a 4th place trophy and two runners-up finishes. Edwardsville High School can be included as not only one of the premier girls basketball programs in Southwestern Illinois but in the state.

Those representing Edwardsville Tigers Girls’ Basketball in the IBCA Hall of Fame are:

Coach Lori Blade who was selected into the IBCA Hall of Fame in 2016; Long-time Assistant Coach Donna Farley was inducted in 2017; Mary Suzanne Patton was inducted into Hall of Fame as a Friend of Basketball in 2021.

Joining the festivities were a great group of former Tigers whom were introduced at half-time.

The IBCA congratulates Coach Bryan Young and all Tigers players, coaches and fans – past and present – on this great achievement!
